Pot roast, aligot (ohmygod cheesy potatoes), Brussels sprouts sauteed with onion and some of the pot roast juice, Normandy cider - now a fizzy red wine that's like carbonated port. Soon: remainders of birthday cake from last weekend. purple_terror also brought me a Macoun apple and peanut butter to eat on the way home from the airport. And the dinner? Yeah. ^_^

quiet_elegance and I usually go to Teppenyaki for sushi on Fridays when we can and they'd employed the same sushi chef for the recent past. But! He was gone this week (and possibly several before) and I was initially not OK with this change, but new chef is reaaaally good. That, plus some hot sake and now some sparkly sake at home -- less stress. Yay!
caramel Bailey's is tasty. the NH liquor store had wee tiny 4-packs of a lovely Beaujolais that was significantly better than my over-cheesed, not quite cooked enough, certainly not enough meat on pizza. Next: drunken crafting.
If every first dinner of the year is an indication of the quality of the coming calendar cycle, I am going to have a great year. Lightly aged cow, caramelized onions, Cotes du Rhone, fresh bread, potatoes, both sweet and standard and a lovely spinach salad. I may eventually have some chocolate bread pudding.
